I wanted to start this space in hopes that someone like me (in my previous life) could find inspiration and answers to any questions they had about starting a life in the trades.
I have recently had a change in career, from design life to trade life. I will be documenting this journey as I go for anyone wanting to follow along. As of recently, I have been accepted into my local union and as I sit on the “ready to work” list I’ll start with how I got to this current place. I enjoyed your article in Electrical Industry News Week entitled Expectation vs. Reality: My First Year as an Electrical Apprentice, its nice to see things from a female perspective in a primarily male dominated trade. I hope you can be an inspiration to other females that are interested in the trades but hesitant to pursue the opportunity. Great job, keep up the great work!
